Pittsburgh steelers are still looking to fill the fourth and last quarter of their list. It should be a veteran addition. Several names have been mentioned, but the one who continues to resurface is Aaron Rodgers.
The legend of the NFL is approaching the end of her career and seems to focus on a last push towards the playoffs and, hopefully, a super bowl. Rodgers has been linked to the Steelers for some time, and many thought that a decision could be made once the NFL calendar. However, this did not happen.
“If you are Rodgers, don’t you wait at this stage, wait until the calendar is out?” Said Mike Florio. “Because it is not as if the Steelers were going to get fewer games in great listening than what they would get otherwise.”
A potential advantage for the steelers is that the delay in the signing of Rodgers may have helped them to avoid an overloaded calendar on great listening hours.
“Steelers do not yet have a QB – and uncertainty around Aaron Rodgers – may have worked in their favor. They only obtained 4 games in prime time. If Rodgers had signed, they would probably have had 6+ and some vacation slots like the jets had the last two years, which would have made a much more unbalanced schedule,” said Meirov.
Rodgers would be dealing with personal questions, which could explain why he has not yet officially signed with the Steelers. However, a decision could happen soon.
