The Patriots of New England have not been very lucky, if necessary, in recent years writing and developing wide receivers.
Kyle Williams, a choice of third round of the Patriots last month, seeks to reverse this trend. And it seems that the product of Washington’s state has started to do so.
Williams already seems to have won Drake Maye’s confidence, who violated a deep pass in Williams in the second full training of the New England team on Wednesday, but he intercepted it by Christian Gonzalez. Despite the final result, Maye goes to Williams on this type of game is a good sign.
Although winning confidence is one thing, Williams’ approach is another, and that is what attracted the attention of the veterans of Patriots players, including Gonzalez.
“Oh yes, everyone is competitive at this level,” Gonzalez told journalists, By marks of Masslive Daniels. “Everyone will enter and especially the receivers and (defensive back), this is one of the positions in which you must be the most competitive. (Williams is) one of them. He will talk about his speech like all the other receivers. He enters, has made his head, asks you, you know, he is hungry, ready to ask you questions. ”

The Patriots will need more Williams this coming season than they got out of last year’s recruits, Ja’lynn Polk and Javon Baker. Polk and Baker combined for only 13 receptions and 99 yards.
Williams had a formidable final college season, ranking fourth in FBS with 14 receipt and eighth in yards with 1,199 yards.
Williams will certainly not have the same type of production during his first season with the patriots who adapt to the NFL. But getting a piece of this will be the key in an offense that needs game leaders.
He would also make Williams a little to stand out in an already crowded receiver room this pre-season and keep thoughts away from fans that more like Polk and Baker than a reliable option for Maye.
