Zach Ertz will enter its 13th NFL season in 2025. A second round choice in the NFL 2013 draft, Ertz spent its first 8.5 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles Before it is exchanged at Arizona cardinals in 2021. Ertz signed with the Washington Commanders Last off -season and played in each match for the first time since 2021.

Ertz not only played every game, but he was one of Washington’s best offensive players. The veteran finished second in the team with 66 receptions for 654 yards and seven affected. It was an essential element in the development of the quarter Jayden Daniels.

At the end of the 2024 season, Ertz was again a free agent. He wanted to continue playing – and Washington. Commanders re-signed Ertz in March, giving him a salary increase despite the fact that he will be 35 years next season.

Washington loved having Ertz last season. Not only was he one of the best ends tight in NFC, but he was also an excellent leader for several young offensive commanders. This raises the question: Is ERTZ underestimated?

AARON SChatz d’Espn Recently appointed the NFL player underestimated at each position. He chose Ertz at a tight end.

It seemed that Ertz’s career could be completed after playing only seven games for cardinals in 2023 at the age of 33. But he had a big season of return with the commanders in 2024. Ertz caught 66 assists for 654 yards and seven affected, emerging as one of the receptors of the recruit of the quarter of Jayden Daniels.

ERTZ also ranked 10th among the extremes tight in my Metric Dyar (adjusted defense above the replacement). He had a blocking rate of 85.7%, one of the best figures from the tight starting ends. The commanders re-signed ERTZ to a one-year contract of $ 6.25 million for 2025. They added any other tight end to the free agency or the project, indicating that they maintain it in the starting role.

Commanders understand that Artz may not produce the same numbers in 2025. In reality, they would be happy that Ben Sinnott, second -year, breaks some of Ertz’s shots. Ertz had a formidable rebound season in 2024, but his production went largely unnoticed around the NFL, which was the case for a large part of his career. Ertz is 25 receptions of 800 in his career.

You can bet that Daniels and the commanders are happy Ertz pushing retirement for at least a year.
