Tennessee titans are rebuilding their team, but they need certain veterans to be the basis of the operation.
One of these players is the defensive platform Jeffery Simmons, who is one of the longest players on the team.
Simmons, a choice of first round in the draft of the 2019 NFL, begins its seventh season with the team and he remains three years on his contract. However, the sports writer of CBS Tyler Sullivan Think that an extension could be on the horizon for him.
“Although it is under contract throughout the 2027 season, Simmons could seek a revised contract,” wrote Sullivan.
“After 2025, the defensive platform of the pro bowl has only $ 6.47 million guaranteed on its contract for the last two years. Simmons can seek more financial security, and locking it would have a meaning for titans, because it is one of their rare fundamental pieces.”
Simmons enters his 28 -year season, and he has a chance to be with the Titans for the rest of his career if he wishes. Many things can change in the next three years, but Tennessee should want to have a player as Simmons in the fold for a very long time.
The titans may want to pay attention to a Simmons extension, because the choice of second round of last year is also under contract until 2027. If sweat continues to play as it did last season, it will be on the pace to win a big contract when it is a free agent, and the titans may want to have two defensive plated on large contracts to allow the team to spend major positions in other stations.
In the meantime, the Titans will meet for the OTAs this week to prepare for the training camp.
