Odell Beckham Jr. opens on the giants Originally appeared on Sports Athlon.
There may not be any bigger “and if” in the history of the New York giants than the trade of the receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Shot at the Browns of Cleveland for a choice of first and third round in the draft of the 2019 NFL, as well as the jabrill security peppers, the departure of Beckham broke the heart of a fans base. He was the best player in the team and an elite offensive weapon. It was a cultural icon and, apparently, made for the market that it dominated.

And then he was sent to Cleveland By (then) the director general Dave Gettleman for reasons that fans would always dispute.
In the years that followed the trade, it has become more and more difficult to say that New York was released by losing. With this first round choice, Gettleman wrote the Dexter Lawrence defensive platform, which is now one of the best defensive sport players. Beckham, meanwhile, has only posted 1,000 yards since his departure from New York. He has not been particularly close to it since he did in 2019.
Despite this, the feeling that things could have been different at East Rutherford have attributed themselves well beyond the mandate of Gettleman. On “Beckham and Friends Live”, the receiver shared an emotional confession on the giants.
“I never wanted to leave the New York giants,” said Beckham. “The reason you’ve heard about what was going on, it was because I was upset because, from where I come from university, if we lost a match, our season was over.

“It was the organization where I signed up. They believed in me. So, if the giants went and earned a super bowl, I would be happy. But at the bottom of the interior, I wanted to be the only one. No question. So, it’s certainly you will always hold that. But you just want that.”
Maybe Beckham would have done enough to raise Daniel Jones, which the team drafted at No. 6, only 11 choices before Lawrence. Perhaps it would have been more productive without the problems based on chemistry and the regimes that afflicted his mandate Browns.
The fact that the New York faithful could not see him continue to haunt the organization. Beckham, having won with the Rams, failed with the Baltimore ravens and was forgotten with the dolphins of Miami. His career could very well be over.
The giants hope that history will not be repeated with the LSU show that follows its traces.
