The Carolina Panthers have already separated from a rusher on board this offseason, reducing the professional quarter triple Jadeveon Clowney. Could another follow?
Dean Jones of Cat Crave feels that it is a possibility, placing Dj Johnson in mind with the training camp just at the corner of the street.
“To do the team would be a success for Johnson,” Jones wrote. “It keeps his foot in the door, but [Nic] Scourton, [Pat Jones] Jones, [Princely] Umanmelen and DJ Wonnum are ahead of him in the hierarchical order at the moment. [Elijah] Evero would have liked it before the flap. This no longer comes with insurance. “”
Jones noted the additions that the Panthers have brought to the position of Rusher on board in recent months, signing Pat Jones II in free agency and also packing a pair of rushers in the recovery of the NFL. With Wonnum also preparing to come back for a full season, which certainly places Johnson on the hot seat.
“It will be interesting to see how Johnson is leaving in the coming months. But if the panthers are not entirely convinced, they will have no problem going in a different direction,” concluded Jones.
Carolina exchanged for Land Johnson in the third round of the NFL 2023 draft, but he did not exactly make the favor. During his first two seasons, the 26 -year -old gave up only 60 plated and a half of bags. For someone who posted considerable potential during his last collegiate campaign in Oregon, this will not cut him.
Do not forget: the panthers recorded only 32 bags last season, ranking down the league. They desperately need help in this department, and if Johnson cannot provide it on the edge, there may not be much operation, especially with Caroline who has young players who are looking for playing time.
