Chicago Bears Running Back by Andre Swift was one of the main targets of the criticism of this offseason, analysts and fans claiming the GM Ryan posts to find a way to upgrade the team’s RB1.
The draft of the NFL 2025 came and passed without this added upgrade, and the Vétéran free agency did not provide a viable option to improve on SWIFT.
But a recent commercial proposal for Pro Football Sports Network has offered an intriguing option that could be the solution that Chicago needs, if they are really on the market for an injection of talents in their room on the back: the former Jacksonville first -round Jaguars choice, Travis Etienne.
In fact, trade for Etienne would not necessarily mean that the role of Swift in Chicago would be erased. Instead, they would combine to give the Bears an explosive punch.
“Chicago already has Andre Swift, who is a solid starter,” Pfsn wrote. “But the Bears only ranked 27th in yards by race (4.0), 28th in the third conversion rate on the races (42.6%) and 30th in Yards after contact by Rush (2.51) last season. Associating Swift with someone like Travis Etienne Jr. could give a real thumb.”

Etienne fell into disgrace with the jaguars in 2024 despite consecutive seasons of more than 1,000 yards on the ground. His best year came as a recruit in 2022 when he ran for 1,125 yards and five scores (5.1 yards per race). Its efficiency has decreased in the past two years, not having reached four yards per two -stroke postponement and recording a career of 3.7 yards per COPPOSS in 2024.
However, it is undeniable how explosive Etienne is in space, and although it can be stated that the combination of the skills of Etienne and Swift is superfluous, the reality is that the Bears need insurance for their “ Lightning ” if Swift does not reach a contract of 24 million dollars over three years and 24 million dollars.
Andre Swift’s first season in Chicago was not great. He totaled 253 races for 959 yards and six affected, which is good. But it has left far too many meters on the ground due to its inability to browse contact and its tendency to become horizontal instead of the vertical far too often.
We do not know if the posts will target another veteran behind to add to the list before the training camp, and there is a chance that he can rather turn to an unconted veteran like Nick Chubb to complete the list. But if a business is in the cards, a player like Travis Etienne is a name to watch.
