A pair of old Wisconsin badgers appeared on ProfootBallFocus’ recent list of the 32 best NFL guards entering the 2025 season.
Detroit lions Right guard Kevin Zeitler, a three -year badger from 2009 to 11, and Buffalo bills Left guard David Edwards, who represented the 2015-18 badgers, obtained designations on the hierarchy of 32 men from the exit.

Zeitler, originally from Waukesha, Wisconsin, landed at No. 9 on the list between the Los Angeles goalkeeper Rams Kevin Dotson (n ° 8) and the San Francisco racing blocker 49ers Dominick punished. The former badger signed with the Lions of Detroit before the 2024 slate after his 2023 Pro Bowl campaign with the Baltimore Ravens. He is now entering his 14th professional campaign.
In the plan of the offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Zeitler helped the Lions rush 534 times for 2,488 yards and 29 scores with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs with the rear field. Zeitler started at the right guard in his 16 appearances.
Despite one of the older players in his position, Zeitler is about as effective as anyone who did not name Joe Thuney, Chris Lindstrom or Quenton Nelson. Here is PFF’s analysis:
“Although Zeitler entered in 2025 at 35, he continued to prove that he did not slow down. During his only season in Detroit, Zeitler obtained his highest global note PFF (86.5) in a decade, ending as the third highest goalkeeper in the NFL. During his protection against protection, the best of his career.”
Meanwhile, PFF ranked Edwards at No. 29. The 2019 All-Big Ten team of the first team played six professional seasons with the Rams of Los Angeles and Buffalo Bills. Shortly after winning a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021, the line player joined the Bills in 2023 as a backup before starting the 16 games during the 2024 campaign.

With the MVP reigning Josh Allen and the dynamic rusher James Cook as primary bulletin holders, the Bills rushed for 2,230 yards and 32 affected in the league a season. Here is what Pff said about Edwards before his third season in Buffalo:
“2024 marked the first season of Edwards in a starting role since 2021. He obtained global solid PFF notes, but has really stood out as a zone blocker, recording a blocking note of 78.1 pff on the zone concepts – good for the 93rd centile and the fifth highest brand among the qualification guards.”
The Zeitler Lions will compete against the packers on September 7 to start the season, while Edwards bills will play the Ravens on the same day, starting their quest for a second appearance of the consecutive AFC championship.
