In a recent article by Ryan Smith of PffHe chooses 10 second -year players who could have a greater impact in 2025 than during their recruit seasons. Although his case is a little different, one of the players he chooses is the Steelers receiver, Roman Wilson.
“Wilson had a recruited season to forget in 2024 because he underwent an ankle injury during the first padded Steelers practice … His NFL debut in the week 6 lasted only five snaps before an ischio-injuries injury ends his campaign for good,” Smith wrote. “To move forward, Wilson has the possibility of embarking on a more important role … Pittsburgh has very little depth in the wide receiver behind DK Metcalf, recently acquired, and the team will need its production to face a Difficult North AFC division.”
Wilson was unable to show what he is capable of during his recruited season due to injuries, but there is a reason why the Steelers selected him in the third round of the NFL 2024 draft.
In his last season with the Wolverines of Michigan, the 23 -year -old wide won 789 yards and 12 affected, and was a key role in his team winning the national championship.

Several sources said Wilson was impressive in the Steelers OTA, so he will seek to show this promise at the start of the 2025 regular season.
