Baker Mayfield of Buccaneers did not change the way in 2025 Originally appeared on Sports Athlon.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baker Mayfield, himself had the best season of his career in the NFL in 2024, launching 4,500 yards and 41 affected, but there was an element of his game which stood out the most.

    His ability to run.

And we are not only talking about blurring; We are talking about picking up big gains when his team needed him to do something. He played 11 games with more than 20 yards on the floor around 401 yards (including the playoffs), a career summit of more than 200 yards.

But Mayfield took its fair share of punishment that could have been avoided, and with its coaches wanting to stay away, Baker is not about to change the way it rolls on the ground.

“Coaches like to speak at this time of year, they sit down and look at adhesive tape”, ” Mayfield said With a cheeky smile at Minicamp. “I try to win matches. It’s football, there is a time and a place, third bottom, I must have situations where I will try to do everything I can to get the first. But there is also a time and a place to throw the ball.”

Baker alludes to his 16 career interceptions of 16 years last year, which is not ideal, so he knows that he must clean this element of his game under the new coordinator Josh Grizzard.

But Mayfield’s ability as a runner gave the Buccaneers the offensive a different thread to shoot during the games, and although they were not often designed, the threat of taking off from Baker is now real.

Admittedly, in an ideal world, he left this to Bucky Irving and Rachaad White, but when it is time to check, Mayfield often intensified last season and took blows because of this.

But do not be mistaken, he is not about to change the way he plays. He will be completely gas, no brakes, to make sure that his team wins, and if that means crossing two seconds on Rush, then too bad.
