Can Keaton Mitchell prosper at Kick Return Originally appeared on Sports Athlon.

In the anterior interpretations of the rear field of the Baltimore Ravens, there was room for a variety of back. It seemed that each season, the Ravens would set up a committee of effective but limited players in role retained by their framework, their athletics or their sustainability. With the quarter-Arrière Lamar Jackson by their side, their collective productivity was generally incredible.

    Then Derrick Henry arrived.

Henry was impeccable during his first season in Baltimore, and without the star of the Eagles of Philadelphia, Saquon Barkley, rushing for 2,000 yards, he would have disputed for another precipitated title. He added a new level of dynamism to the offense with his contact balance and his devastation of the descent.

He also eliminated the need to use a third ball carrier.

It was bad news for Keaton Mitchell, who flashed as auxiliary member of the rear field in 2023 before undergoing an injury at the end of the season. Upon his return in 2024, he only saw 15 races in five games. There is not much role for him in the 2025 offense for Mitchell, demanding that he add something to his repertoire.

The ravens that run back awaiting its new role as Kick Return impatiently. As indicated on the team’s website, it is well equipped to prosper with the ball in his hands, whatever he finds it.

“Assuming that Henry and Hill are both healthy, I don’t think there are a lot of offensive shots for Mitchell from week to week”, ” Ryan Mink wrote. “I would believe that it may be an average of five per game, perhaps to give Henry or Hill a break and as a home run striker.

“What helps Mitchell is that I expect him to become the main return of the Ravens, which gives him a place on the active list of the day of the match and puts him in a position to tear the big games. It would not surprise me if Mitchell is in assertion for the return as returning this year.”

Mitchell returned five kicks for 156 yards in his cameo in 2024, including a notch of 47 yards. With a speed of less than 4.40 seconds and the burst in correspondence, Mitchell is an explosive part that awaits to occur.

Between Henry, Jackson, and the prowess that exceeds justice Hill, Baltimore is forced to relegate Mitchell. In doing so, the ravens sign it for even more touches.

As captured by AJ GershMitchell is happy to seize more opportunities. He also prepares a high bar.

“Like a soothsayer – don’t get started with this type of guy.”
