THE Saint-Orleans saints officially signed the ball carrier for veterans cam akers. This was initially reported by Nick Underhill from Neworleans.football Before being confirmed on the NFL transaction wire. After having displayed interest in the ball carrier Nick Chubb before being signed by the Houston TexansThe saints called on Akers for a minicamp test this week.

Akers, who is only 26 years old on June 22, will be with his fourth team in the past three years. After a selection of the second All-ECC team with the Florida seminolesAkers was selected on the Tour 2 of the NFL 2020 draft by the Rams of Los Angeles. Despite four games and the sharing of Backfield Snaps as a recruit, Akers led the Rams with 625 yards on the ground. He would suffer an Achilles injury in 2021 which limited him to a single regular season match. However, Akers came back in time so that the playoffs collect 248 melee yards in four games on the way to the LVI championship of RAMS Super Bowl.

Akers bounced Achilles in 2022 to direct the Rams with 786 yards on the ground and 7 scores, which would both be a better. Los Angeles would exchange akers to the Vikings du Minnesota At the start of the following season, where he would only collect 138 yards in six games before landing on the injured reserve. He signed as a free agent with the Texans of Houston during the 2024 off -season. After only 147 yards in five competitions, the Texans exchanged him in Minnesota. In his second passage with the Vikings, Akers ran for 297 yards in the last 12 games of last year.

During its five years in the NFL, Akers has an average of four yards per race while collecting 2,025 yards on the ground. He added 388 more as a receiver on 52 catches and marked a total of 17 affected. Akers was hampered by injuries and could never play a star in the star. However, he has excellent power between the plated and a good broke out in the second level of a defense.

The addition of Cam Akers adds to the competition in the rear field of New Orleans. Alvin Kamara will continue to be the team’s feat of the team. Behind him, the often injured Kendre Miller and the 2024 Clyde Edwards-Helaire veteran pick-up could not provide viable threats. The saints also added to the Kansas the carrier of Devin Neal in the first round of this year’s draft with the Ballon carrier of Delaware Marcus Yarns as a non -drafted recruit.
