Houston’s Texans have brought a package of improvements to their offensive side of the ball during their months of off -season work and adjustments to the list.
However, despite the immense work on how this offense could seek the 2025 season, there could be a major factor in this Texans unit which could inevitably derail how this team improves after a campaign from top to bottom.
Alex Ballentine de Bleacher Report Recently presented which could be the worst scenario of the Texans at the end of next season, where the biggest concern has surrounded a potential nightmare of a situation of the Houston offensive: the offensive line is somehow worse than last year.
“The offensive line was the cause of Texans’ difficulties last season,” said Ballentine. “All well considered, they adopted a strange approach to repair it. Tunsil had his difficulties last season, but he was always the safest thing they had at the front and they exchanged it. This allowed them to release money, but it also lowered the ground.”
“The Texans were able to sign Cam Robinson and Laken Tomlinson, but no longer a starter higher than the average at this stage,” said Ballentine. “Tykard is now the safest thing they have, but they will need Jarrett Patterson and Blake Fisher to make improvements this season. They could be better, but it is always theoretical at this stage. If they do not approach the average as a unit, then Stroud is in another difficult season.”
It is an extremely different distribution of contributors for Texans in the offensive trenches this year to come, with what could be a unit of five men almost entirely different from what we saw a year ago. Although with these changes, this could also lead to growing pain in the next season.
And if the front lines suffer in a way more turbulence than what Stroud had seen last season, because it was the second most dismissed quarter in the league, this could lead to an even more in-depth regression of this unit of what was observed throughout 2024.
Thus, although the change could have been necessary on this offensive line, there is a world where things could go south next season if the pieces added in the mixture do not go as well as expected. If this is the case, it would be a section of 17 games undoubtedly brutal for Stroud on the horizon, and inevitably, a hard blow to all the odds to journey more than one victory in the playoffs in the books ultimately for 2025.
