With the Vikings training camp to come, we will help you prepare by presenting you some of the names not announced on the list: non -drained recruits. In the coming weeks, we are going to take a look at the 21 UDFA adds from Minnesota this year.
Vikings Udfa Profile: Byu Olb Tyler Batty
It is generally not too difficult to understand why a player has not been drafted – whether size, athletics, university production or another factor. With Tyler Batty, what jumps is his age. Batty, who served a three -year LDS mission before spending five years in Byu, is already 26 years old. He has been married for over four years. According to NFL recruit standards, it is an old limit.
But even if the batty ceiling can be capped by his age and his lack of rapid contraction athletics, he is the size, the strength and the engine to put himself in the mixture for a place on the list of 53 men of the Vikings. Having played in 53 games in Byu, Batty has substantial experience and a way to contribute as a depth player and special teams during his recruit contract. After all, there is a reason for which he received more money guaranteed that any other free agent not drafted than the Vikings signed this spring.
Batty, who grew up on a Utah farm, stayed with football despite a frightening injury to a mountain bike accident just before high school. During his five seasons in Byu, he recorded 16.5 bags, 34 plated in total for the loss, three forced escapes and a pair of interceptions. Unlike 2024 UDFA Bo Richter, Batty is a large and strong defensive that wins with physics and an implacable engine. It does not drip out burst or agility, but it is a violent and powerful player who can precipitate the smuggler in different ways.

With the Vikings, there is at least one list place, if not two, to be won in a competition between four former players not drafted to the outside second. Batty’s university production and the amount of money guaranteed that he has obtained Minnesota suggests that he has a real chance of getting out of this competition with a place in the team.
