The Arizona cardinals were struck by the cornerback injury bug.
They have now brought the brother of a superstar to try to solve the problem.
Steven Gilmore Jr. is the new signature of the cardinals. He is the brother of All-Pro and champion of the Super Bowl, Stephon Gilmore.

Steven Gilmore Jr. recently played in the UFL. He played in the pre-season of the NFL 2023 for the Detroit lions.
Gilmore Jr. played at the University for Marshall and was not drafted in 2023.
He made the Lions’ initial list in 2023, but was finally part of the training team.

Detroit gave up Gilmore Jr. in August 2024, and it is not clear that he hung on to another NFL team.
In January 2025, Gilmore Jr. signed with the Birmingham stallions in the UFL, where he played well enough to attract the attention of the NFL.

Now the cardinals give him a chance.
He has only 5 feet 8 inches and 174 pounds, but Gilmore Jr. manages a dash of 4.44 seconds of 40 yards and has a vertical leap of 36.5 inches.
His main work, of course, will be to cover the wide receivers. If he shows that he can do it, he will have such a good blow to win a job as anyone.
