The two parties could not find common ground on a new contract, and now McLaurin has enough and hopes to be sent elsewhere.
Although it remains to be seen which teams will be interested, and if the commanders bite the ball and give McLaurin what he wants, the franchise always makes movements of alignment with the pre-season of the NFL now officially in progress.
One day after McLaurin’s trade request, the commanders signed a former Large Miami Dolphins receiver.

The ex-Dolphins WR come to Washington
According to Washington DC Radio Hisor Grant PaulsenFriday, commanders concluded an agreement with Braylon Sanders. The transaction later appeared on the espn List of NFL transactions.
Here is a brief overview of Sanders’ career to this point:
-
Played university football in Ole Miss from 2017 to 2021
-
Not drafted in the NFL 2022 project
-
Signed as UDFA with dolphins in 2022, recording two catches for 17 yards
-
The Miami Dolphins practice team in 2023
-
Squad of Patriots of New England in 2024
-
Signed with UFL DC defenders, catching 13 passes for 332 yards and three scores
Sanders was a large part of the defenders’ UFL title this year, so he can stay in DC when he returns to the NFL.
During Sanders’ university career, he recorded 1,453 yards and 10 affected in 47 games. However, he did not get a coherent playing time in the NFL. It will be interesting to see how it occurs during the pre-season.

What does the WR room of commanders without McLaurin look like?
To tell the truth, McLaurin was the heart and soul of the WR room of commanders, and it is not to be discussed.
He has five consecutive seasons of more than 1,000 yards and has played each regular season match in the past four years.

On the other hand, the commanders acquired Deebo Samuel in a business with the 49ers of San Francisco and have veterans such as KJ Osborn, Michael Gallup and Noah Brown. They also have Luke McCaffrey and the recruit of fourth round Jaylin Lane, so there are many options in this position even if McLaurin is exchanged.

This means a hill that is difficult to climb for Sanders, although its recent room in the UFL was something to look at.
At worst, Sanders could secure a training team spot and be the next man if an injury takes place.
