Fans had a better idea of how the quarter-back quarter competition takes place when the Cleveland Browns published their first depth painting. The team uses the training camp to decide who will be under the center when the regular season begins. But head coach Kevin Stefanski also uses all the resources available to help Browns improve. And he had a special ad Monday.
“You will see that we have a famous guest here today,” Stefanski told the team by Brownszone. “A guy by the name of Joe Thomas will help with the offensive line. So each time Joe is around and we can mine it for everything it is worth, we will do it. So, he’s back in the O-Line meeting rooms to get his football solution, and we are happy to have it.”
Thomas is considered one of the biggest Browns players of all time. The former left tackle was an All-Pro six times in the first team and was selected for 10 pro bowls during his 11-year career. Thomas also has the distinction of playing 10,363 consecutive snaps, without ever missing a game during his first 10 seasons in the NFL.
Browns are looking for an advantage in the training camp
Thomas spent his entire career with the Browns after Cleveland selected him third in total in the 2007 draft. He retired in 2017 and became a first renowned hall in 2023.
While Stefanski would jump at the opportunity to hire the former line player, Thomas is not interested in a full -time coach job. The Browns will therefore take the time they can get with him. “I think everything Joe does here on the practice field helps when you talk about a fame temple,” said Stefanski, via Brownszone.
Cleveland should not have a strong offensive line in 2025. is projected To finish like the sixth worst of the league this season, according to PFF. But Stefanski hopes that the group would benefit from the presence of Thomas. The big one of all time can be an invaluable resource for the team, as long as he has not asked questions about football of the playoffs. The Browns failed to make a single appearance in the playoffs during the career of Thomas.
Cleveland made the playoffs last time in 2023, with the help of Joe Flacco. The 18th year veteran won the return player of the year with the Browns this season. Now Cleveland has found Flacco.
The former Super Bowl MVP is currently at the top of the team’s depth table, but he will have to win the position throughout the training camp. Flacco faces the competition of Kenny Pickett and the draft in 2025, Dillon Gabriel and Sheder Sanders.
