After the match against the Steelers, the Jaguars head coach Liam Coen shared his initial reflections on the fact that Hunter was a double-meaning player, but noted that he will have to return to watch the film to get a clearer vision of his performance.
“I think he made some good sockets on certain options and missed the only defensively tackle that I noticed,” Coen said in the after-match of the media. “It was the only thing I noticed about his overall game. In terms of this, I will have to look at the band to see how he operated a little more on the defensive, but I thought offensively, he made the right decisions on these options, made a good catch and almost broken one.”
In attack, the 22-year-old recorded two receptions for nine yards while the quarter-rear starting Trevor Lawrence was only there for a brief moment. However, expect Lawrence to play more in the second pre-season match and continue to develop chemistry with Hunter.

Jacksonville has two other pre-season games to see if Hunter can manage the double responsibility without its form falling on each side of football. According to Coen’s comments, it seems that he is satisfied with what he saw from Hunter live because there was no significant concern raised during his press conference with the media.
If Hunter performs as he did on Saturday against the New Orleans and Miami Dolphins to win more Coen confidence, then it is likely that the player gets at least the first part of the regular season to see what he can do when the games start to count.
