Outside the James Logan high school near Palo Alto, California, Wright would play his first two years of university ball at Laney College in northern California. He was transferred to the state of Oregon in 2020 and would make much of their defense the following year after a short time in 2020. His total tackle was down in 2022, but Wright had 2 interceptions again and broke 9 throws, which earned him the first All-PAC-12 team.

Despite a strong finish to his collegial career, Wright was not selected in the draft of the NFL 2023. He would sign with the Carolina Panthers, but was released in the training camp.
