The old quarter-back in southern Alabama, Carter Bradley, played a lot for the 49ers of San Francisco during the pre-season. The former quarter of Auburn Payton Thorne only played a little for the Bengals of Cincinnati.

The two had the same NFL fate on Monday when they were canceled.

The quarter-rear are one of the nine players from the Alabama high schools and colleges that were canceled on Monday. In the NFL, 125 players were placed on Monday in derogation.

Players will be subject to complaint by other teams until 11 a.m. Wednesday, when they will become free agents if they are not claimed.

The players with the Alabama football roots were canceled on Monday include:

    • Large Kawaan Baker receiver (south of Alabama) by Green Bay packers
    • The quarter Carter Bradley (South Alabama) by the 49ers of San Francisco
    • Tackle defensive Shakel Brown (Troy) by the 49ers of San Francisco
    • Punter James Burnip (Alabama) by the Saints of New Orleans
    • Punter Oscar Chapman (Auburn) by the Vikings of Minnesota
    • Large Kobe Hudson (Auburn) receiver by the Carolina Panthers
    • CORNERBACK Christian Matthew (Samford) by Dallas Cowboys
    • The quarter Payton Thorne (Auburn) by the Bengals of Cincinnati
    • Clay Webb guard (Oxford) by Denver Broncos

Each NFL team has until 3 p.m. CDT on Tuesday to reduce their pre-season list from 90 players to 53 active players for the regular season.

Thorne did not play in the first two pre-seasonal games of Cincinnati. He made his first appearance of the pre-season with 2:09 to make in the third quarter of the defeat of Bengals 41-14 against the Indianapolis colts on Saturday. He made 4 passes by 7 for 41 yards without affected or interceptions.

Thorne directed two possessions – a trip from Touché to three and Out and 13 years and 69 yards. Thorne had two third supplements for the first tests on the touch of the touch. He also tried twice and lost one, but this game was canceled by an Indianapolis penalty.

A not recovered recruit, Thorne entered the game listed with Desmond Ridder on the third team of the depth of Cincinnati behind Joe Burrow and Jake Browning.

Bradley spent last season as a recruit not drafted with the Raiders of Las Vegas without appearing in a regular season match. He signed with 49ers on July 31, 17 days after being released by the raiders.

Bradley finished 22 passes out of 41 for 199 yards with a touchdown and an interception when he played in the three pre-season games of San Francisco.

Bradley began the 49ers pre-season final final on Saturday evening, but he left earlier than expected with an undisclosed injury. But the other quarter-back available from San Francisco, Tanner Mordecai, was also injured, and Bradley was the QB when the 49ers had football during the last five minutes of the 30-23 victory against Los Angeles charges. He launched a pass of a touchdown of 22 yards with 3:12 to play after the 49ers recovered a stifled shift on the 19 yards of Los Angeles.

Bradley and Mordecai were placed on Monday in derogation with injury designations. If they are not claimed, they will return to the injured reserve with San Francisco and will not be back in the 2025 season, unless they are released via an injury regulation.

San Francisco has two quarters on its current list – Brock Purdy and the former Alabama All -American Mac Jones.

Burnip, Chapman, Hudson and Webb were recruited recruits. Baker played in two games as a seventh round recruit with the New Orleans in 2021, Matthew had played 20 games in the previous three seasons and Brown was one of the 49ers training teams and Miami Dolphins last season and the Titans du Tennessee reserve in 2023.
