Aside from the smells of the changing rooms, investigations on NFLPA players show that clubs improve the conditions

Indianapolis – During the third year of the NFL Players Union work survey, the seriousness of concerns has decreased.

“There are no longer any major dangers that stand out,” said NFL strategy director JC Trette.

The players did not complain of rats, dirty water or shower bugs as they had done in the first two iterations of the investigation. But at least five clubs have cited conditions related to the bathroom on their list of concerns of changing rooms.

The current plumbing problems afflict Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to at least a third of the players of each team. Buccaneers attracted the most radical concerns, with “persistent bad odors” because 44% of players reported in progress plumbing problems.

The 49ers of San Francisco noted that their showers were broken frequently while the Falcons of Atlanta had concerns about ventilation.

Falcons have been massively received high notes for their working conditions, including a global improvement in the 25th most satisfied team in the third most. But even if they greeted the spacious changing rooms and awarded the renovated space an “A +”, the players hope that the club will be able to improve ventilation in the wardrobe to counter the complaints of a bad persistent smell.

“I think it’s quite repairable,” said Tretter. “There are things you can improve that you don’t need a ton of money to improve. We are talking about $ 70,000 in investments here and there that make a huge difference. “”

The changing rooms with plumbing problems are not always in correlation with the lowest locker rooms, because the investigation prompt the overall satisfaction of the locker room according to space and functionality rather than water functions.

The Falcons received an A + for their classification of changing rooms, the Cowboys A, the 49ers AB, the Buccaneers AC and the Commanders and F.

The F commanders reflected the second lowest satisfaction note with the space of their individual lockers and the fourth lowest satisfaction with the space of the room as a whole.

Two teams received F-Minus notes for their locker room, which the Union classification scale ranked 0 to 49 highlights out of 100.

Fifty percent of cardinal players believe that their individual lockers are large enough while 24% approve the overall size of the locker room. Only 39% of Cleveland Browns players think that their individual lockers are sufficient, with 29% approval of the size of the locker room.

Michael Bidwill, owner of the Cardinals team, was the second owner of the lowest team on his desire to invest in the facilities (5.9 out of 10), the Jimmy Haslam of the Browns winning a 7.98 out of 10 classified.

In the survey of the NFLPA workplace, Robert Kraft ranked 5 down in the 3 categories of team owners: willing to invest in facilities, contribution to the positive team culture, a commitment to build a competitive team.

Although there has been a certain correlation between modern facilities and players’ approval ratings, commanders have shown that drastic jumps could be carried out without complete renovation. Their improvement in the most graduated workplace in the league at 11th in a year reflects the changes of the new owner of the Josh Harris team and the head coach Dan Quinn, Harris ranking fourth higher of his contributions to positive team culture and the construction of a competitive team while Quinn was the most classified coach.

The teams also improved the grades by providing more robust and affordable family support and more comfortable trips.

“It is not only a problem of walls and buildings to be killed,” said Trettet. “There are softer problems with regard to the treatment of families, with regard to travel, with regard to staff, who make major differences for players. Yes, physical installations do it too.

“So there are several ways to solve your problems.”
