While Baltimore Ravens seek to add to their group of wide receivers, a potential impact player can already be in their backyard.
The Maryland Wideout Tai Felton, an All-American from the third team in 2024, experienced an exceptional performance at the NFL scout combination last week. The native of Ashburn, in Virginia, ranked sixth among the dashboard receivers of 40 yards (4.37 seconds), fourth in the vertical (39.5 inches) and fifth leap (10 feet, 10 inches) jump.
More important for Ravens, Felton discussed the idea of staying in Maryland And join the dynamic offensive of Baltimore.
“They are local. They already know a lot,” Felton told journalists. “It was good to meet them. I liked it.
“(Their attack) is explosive. They have guys everywhere on the field – Lamar (Jackson), Derrick Henry. They have the racing game. It was exciting them this season.”
Zay Flowers and Rashhod Bateman are locked up as the best Baltimore receivers after the best career seasons in 2024, but the depth that followed is questionable to say the least. Nelson Agholor and Tylan Wallace are both ready to hit a free agency next week, and Devonz Walker has played in a very spatter in his recruit season.
The ravens really want to add one or more receivers of this off -season, and they believe that they can do it Through the project or the free agency.
“I think it is also a very good class class, in terms of free agencies,” said general manager Eric Decosta last week. “We are doing a very good job … I am very happy to see the development that our young receivers have made the last two years. [Wide receivers coach] Greg Lewis does an excellent job coaching these guys. Our players have really done a good job this year.
“We have the impression that there is a good opportunity for us to find good talents via a free agency or the project, on each turn and at each price.”
Felton certainly pleaded for himself with the combine harvester, but he was definitely on the radar before that. The senior had an excellent 2024 campaign with 96 receptions for 1,124 yards and nine affected, being easily the best player in the Maryland attack.
It projects the choice of day 2 or the beginning of day 3, so if it is on the board of directors, perhaps the Ravens maintain it in the state.
