The Vikings of Minnesota lost one of their best assistants against Jacksonville jaguars. Head coach Kevin O’Connell now has the replacement of Grant Udinski on the bridge in the form of a former assistant to New Orleans Saints.

O’Connell hires Jordan Traylor as a new assistant offensive coordinator and co-district coach, according to Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network on Monday. O’connell Also made a young rental to its staff in 2025.

“Traylor, only 31, fills a key vacuum,” said Rapoport on X.

Once again, Udinski joins the Jaguars – where he will work with a former colleague from O’Connell. Jacksonville’s head coach Liam Coen trained alongside O’Connell while the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. O’Connell was the offensive coordinator under Sean Mcvay, while Coen managed the assistant coach of the QB.

The incoming arrival of Traylor talks about this pattern at the end of the Vikings and O’Connell: keep Sam Darnold. The Vikings would have something strategic in place for Darnold.

The Minnesota has watched the old Top Three Pick produce its best season to date. Darnold has delivered his very first season of 4,000 yards and fired 35 career affected. The Vikings were even a victory for obtaining the NFC seeded before losing against the Lions of Detroit in the final of the season. The Minnesota season ended in the hands of the Rams in the first round of the NFC qualifiers.

Darnold will pay significant attention in about a week. He is the best quarter of free agent for the 2025 class. Darnold, 27, signed only one year agreement with Minnesota in 2024.

Darnold, however, resumed the reins of departure QB after the recruit JJ McCarthy tore his ACL during the pre-season. The veteran guided Minnesota to his most regular seasonal victories since 1998 – when the Vikings went 15-1 under Dennis Green and presented a recruit named Randy Moss.

Traylor has a working story with QB at NFL and college. He resulted in the signalers of the University of Arkansas in 2018. Traylor also worked with QBS as an offensive graduate assistant at the University of Texas from 2016 to 2017.

The future Vikings assistant watched the saints bike through three different starters in 2000: Derek Carr, Spencer Rattle and Jake Haener. New Orleans ranked 23 in the general classification, including the footage. Now O’Connell could make him work with Darnold if the Vikings keep him.
