The former star of the Philadelphia Eagles has an interesting connection with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh – Pittsburgh steelers will probably be on the market for half a corner of this offseason.

Although the group is not the most urgent need for the team, it is a group that could absolutely be improved for the coming season. The market for free -seasoning free agents for the cornerbacks seems to be particularly strong, with players like DJ Reed, Charvarius Ward and Carlton Davis completing the top of the group.

However, the Eagles of Philadelphia announced earlier this week that they would separate from the Darius Slay Jr. corner half after five seasons, designating the former first 34-year-old team All-Pro with an outing on June 1.

According to CBS Sports Insider Jonathan Jones, Slay could seek to end his career with the Steelers, due to a coach connection. Jones wrote on X what he believed that the bases of a Tuen agreement could look like, and why the Steelers could be a viable option.

“Darius Slay wants to play one more year, and his level of play dictates that he will get a respectable offer and will probably want to go to a competitor.” Jones wrote. “Slay played for teryl Austin for 4 years in Detroit, so some sources wonder if a potential meeting in Pittsburgh could occur.”

During the four years of overlap in Detroit between Austin and Slay from 2014 to 2017, Slay was excellent, representing 224 placed in the four seasons. The Slay campaign in 2017, in particular, saw it catch 8 interceptions and a forced escape.

While Slay is certainly up at age, and his game is sure to have decreased since his time with the Lions, a meeting with a former coach may not be too risky for the Steelers. A one -year agreement allows them to cut links if necessary after a season, and that seems to be what Slay still wants.

Make sure to sign the steelers on if to get all your news, interviews, breakdowns and more!
