Washington commanders continue the Philadelphia Eagles, not only for the East Crown of the NFC, but also with regard to the Super Bowl.
The Eagles ran the table last year on their way to their second Super Bowl in the history of the franchise and although the commanders still have one on the Lombardi trophies, the Eagles were the team that saw their success occur more recently.
However, the commanders are apparently right about their heels after reaching the NFC championship match – a game in which they lost against the Eagles – and are on a trajectory which is brilliant after having retained all the levels of the franchise at that time last season.
The turnaround was led by the sensational quarter Jayden Daniels and the offense. However, there are areas where commanders can improve, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
An area where Washington experienced difficulties in 2024 was to defend the pass, and they could turn to a former Eagles player, the recently published corner half, Darius Slay, is on the free market and has hinted at the possibility of heading to the DMV during a live flow with a famous streamer and a fan of nominant commanders Janky Rondo.

Slay, a Bowler Pro 6 times and a single All-Pro, is not entirely the player he was at the age of 34, but he could be a precious asset for the secondary of commanders alongside the Marshon Lattimore and Mike Sainristil even as a depth piece. Throughout his career, Slay was a starter with the Lions and Eagles of Detroit, and collected 619 plated, 160 defended passes (active leader of the NFL), 28 interceptions (three for the affected), five recovery escaped (two for the affected) and two forced smokes.
It does not seem that Slay has so much playing time in his career, so it could be a cheap option for Washington, even if Slay said that the prize should be good for him to join his former rival in his team’s division.
