Dolphins Goalkeeper Liam Eichenberg, who started 14 games on the right last season and started 52 of his 60 career games, is signing with Miami, Sun Sentinel confirmed.
ESPN was the first to report the news.
Eichenberg was a second round choice in 2021 and rebounded between the tackle, the guard and the center during his career.
Eichenberg, 26, was one of the best rated guards in the league last season, as started the left goalkeeper Rob Jones, who signed with Dallas as a free agent.
But the versatility and familiarity of Eichenberg with the wide dolphins scheme and the coach of the Offensive Butch Barry line were probably large factors when he returned.
Eichenberg could combine with James Daniels newly signed, the former right guard of Pittsburgh who was limited to four games last season due to an injury from Achilles, to give the Dolphins two runners or a quality depth.
There is still a chance on Dolphins Could it again sign Isaiah Wynn, the left guard starting in 2023 until it was sidelined by a quad injury.
If the dolphins bring back Wynn, they would have depth as well as talents of starting caliber among Wynn, Daniels and Eichenberg.
Dolphins also have little used chasen on the list.
Dolphins could still write an offensive line player, and perhaps keep, in the first three rounds of the April 24 draft.
The Dolphins’ offensive line is slowly taking shape among the Aaron Brewer departure center and the Andrew Meyer rescue center, the Daniels and Eichenberg guards, and the right tackle Austin Jackson, which returns from a knee injury, and the left platform Patrick Paul, the choice of the second round of 2024.
Dolphins are still waiting for a word from the left tackle veteran Terron Armstead, who decides if he wants to retire.
Dolphins have recently signed the Larry Borom set, a free agent from Chicago, who will probably serve as a replacement, and will have reserve plated Jackson Carman and Kion Smith, who will return from an end of season injury.
