The Baltimore Ravens took care of the largest article on their free agent task list when they signed the Star Ronnie Stanley offensive set to a new three -year agreement.
With Stanley bought in the long term, the Ravens have their secure left tackle position in the relative bonus of Lamar Jackson.
This is part of the reason why the writer of the Brad Gagnon report believed that Stanley’s signature was good for Ravens.
“Of course, Stanley has an uneven history of injuries, and it is on the wrong side of 30 now. But the Bowler Pro 2024 has been relatively healthy in the past two years and it is an integral part of the Ravens operation,” writes Gagnon.
“This team remains a competitor in the AFC, but it is prosecuted by Bengals and Steelers within the division and the competition is fierce beyond. If they will finally overcome the top with this nucleus, Lamar Jackson must remain healthy and free, and that Stanley is essential there.
“That they assured it for only $ 20 million per year (which is not even an average annual salary of the top 10 in a tackle position) is the icing in mind for a veteran team with a limited ceiling room.”
Stanley is accompanied by risks, but each player puts himself in danger 17 Sundays a year. Stanley is a calculated risk because he has always been able to perform among the best offensive line players in the league, and there is no reason to stop now.
Stanley may not be at his peak as he was in the past, but even a version of him at 70-80% is always better than a good piece of plated in the league.
Now that Stanley is signed, Ravens can focus on other areas of need with their 11 draft choices.
