The rest of the NFC North having strengthened their lists, Brian Gutekunst has work to do so that Green Bay packers can keep up.
The draft of the NFL 2025 will start in exactly five weeks, with our seventh recovery of packers of the year to respond to several shortcomings of the team. The project will be critical because their competitors from NFC North have improved in free agency.
The Vikings may be going with a quarter to start from the first year to JJ McCarthy, but the Minnesota has loaded its list around it with two new starters on the offensive line and two veterans proven on the defensive line.
The Bears added three attacking lines around Caleb Williams and strengthened their rush to the passes with two defensive line players.
The lions signed the DJ Reed corner in the free agency and will recover Aidan Hutchinson at the start of the season.
After having signed goalkeeper Aaron Banks, the nate Hobbs corner half and the Hardman Mecole recipient in a free agency, Gutekunst works to bring his team back to the top of the NFC North and the NFC as a whole.
Packers have not won the division since 2021. It was not so long, but it is an eternity to Green Bay. They have not won the conference since 2010, when they hoisted the Lombardi trophy.
With players of difference in free agency having signed contracts, Gutekunst will need an excellent recovery to help pass his team over the bump.
Using The professional football network simulatorOur seventh draft of the NFL All-Packers mock begins in the trenches.
Round 1, Pick 23: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
It could be classified as a shock if the packers had to use their first -round choice on an offensive tackle a year after selecting Jordan Morgan. In other words, if you never listen to a word Brian Gotekunst.
Gutekunst often talks about his need to build and continuously strengthen the offensive line. He never moved away from choosing a great talented man.
“These big guys are difficult to find, so it’s never something that we are not going to approach,” said Gutekunst.
“We were quite consistent (with) that in our time here. We really think that except quarter-arre, winning in the trenches is the way we have to do. And so we have decisions to make as we go ahead on the offensive line and, as we do, there could be a little booty. ”
The decisions did not understand to re-signal Josh Myers. The mixture included the displacement of Elgton Jenkins in the center to make room for banks.
In Simmons, packers would win a perspective that would never have been available if he had not missed the second half of the season with a knee injury.
Simmons is talented enough to potentially play as a recruit. Otherwise, he sat behind a free agent from Rasheed Walker for a year before competing with the work of the left tackle as a second year player. In this scenario, Morgan could be the long -term response to the right guard.
Anyway, as Gutekunst said before, he will not hesitate to take a great talented man.
Round 2, Pick 54: Landon Jackson, Edge, Arkansas
While Brian Gutekunst and Matt Lafleur deplored the rush to the passes of four men from the team team, the team did not strengthen the group in free agency. In addition, it does not seem that a trade for Trey Hendrickson arrives anytime soon. This means that packers will examine internal development as well as the project.
In turn 2, the choice was Landon Jackson de l’Arkansas. He is the size (6 feet 6 inches and 264 pounds) Gutekunst prefers and is explosive (9.88 Relative sports score).
Jackson has a good technique and a refined manual work that could make him an immediate contributor. He had 6.5 bags each of the last two seasons.
Round 3, Pick 87: Jalen Royals, WR, Utah State
Although their paths have never been crossed, locate the scenarios on the Royals of Jalen attending the same college as the quarter-Arrière Jordan Love.
Packers, even with the recent addition of Hardman Mecole, need a vertical threat, and the 4.42 dashboard of 40 yards of the Royals suggest that he could be the man for work.
It is not only a threat of speed. The Royals are able to play games after capture, as evidenced by its 7.9 YAC by catching up in 2024.
Could Jalen Royals be the next @seniorbowl WR to be repeated by packers?

The receiver is undoubtedly the greatest need for the team. The seizure of the Royals here gives the packers a chance to obtain a certain impact of a player as a recruit while obtaining an upward potential for the future, with Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs entering the last seasons of their recruit contract.
Round 4, Pick 123: Anthony Belton, OT, NC State
Yes, another offensive tackle.
He is a giant. Anthony Belton measured 6 feet 6 inches and 336 pounds with the screening combination. Packers have generally moved away from massive blockers, but Anthony Banks is large. Sean Rhyan too. The two men switch the balance to more than 320 pounds.
With the additional accent on the push of the pocket, the packers may want a little more size inside their offensive line. If Belton was chosen in the fourth round, it would probably be trained in the tackle and the guard to increase the depth and the competition.
Round 5, Pick 160: Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse
A quarter!
With Malik Willis entering his last season under contract, the packers may need a long-term solution to the backup quarter. They did not avoid adding players earlier than the public expects.
Sean Clifford, a fifth round choice in 2023, is a good recent example. Kyle McCord would be in competition against Clifford for a place on the list or the training squad.
After launching 406 three seasons at Ohio State, McCord had a season in small groups for Orange. He led the nation in termination, attempts, yards by the pass and yards per match per match.
Round 6, Pick 200: Jamon Dumas-Johnson, LB, Kentucky
Jamon Dumas-Johnson, a very productive secondary with certain advantages, would fill the void left when Eric Wilson signed with the Vikings in the free agency.
Dumas-Johnson collected 13 bags, 25 plated for losses and two interceptions in three seasons in Georgia and one in Kentucky. With the choice of third round of last year, Ty’ron Hopper, which sets up an ankle, would complete the second of the seconds and contribute to special teams, where he played 297 snaps between Kentucky and Georgia.
Round 7, choice 239: Jermari Harris, CB, Iowa
Our first addition to the secondary, a bit like a year ago, arrives in the seventh lap with Jermari Harris.
Playing mainly on the border, Harris had four interceptions in 2021 and three in 2024. He also recorded 250 snaps on special teams in five college seasons.
At 6 feet 1/2 and 191 pounds, Harris granted a capture rate of 43.2% in 2024, according to PFF. Significant medical history could make it lower the draft advice.
Round 7, Pick 251: Tim Smith, DT, Alabama
The attempts at the final choice add beef to the defensive line with Tim Smith. Registered at 314 pounds by the school, he had 6.5 bags and 15 plated for losses in five seasons for the crimson tide.
Packers need help in advance in the department of racing tons with TJ Slaton to sign with Bengals in free agency.
What worked?
The addition of an offensive tackle at the start of the project would be controversial, but similar to eating your vegetables. You may not like it, but in the end, it’s good for you. Simmons is an emergency plan in the left tackle if Rasheed Walker goes to free agency according to the offseason or Jordan Morgan does not work on the edge.
Landon Jackson adds a little punch to the rush to the pass, while Jalen Royals gives wide receivers to create yards after taking and helps start the next wave to the wide receiver with all their four best receivers needing a contract in the next two years.
What didn’t work?
Nate Hobbs will help secondary, no matter where he plays, but not adding a cornerback until the sixth round can cause some anxiety among the fans base. In this scenario, however, it’s just the way the board of directors fell.
The deepest part of the draft class is widely considered as a defensive tackle, but we could not choose one until the last choice of the class. This will exert some pressure on internal development or perhaps kick the box in 2026 to add reinforcements to the front.
Earlier this week, we organized our second project to simulate writers. There were many quality prospects available at #Packers“Positions of need. Here’s why I did what I did while trying to guess how they would use the 23rd selection.https://t.co/iebrmkufrv
