While the Cleveland Browns continue to work to fill their quarter room, their research could leave them face to face with an old friend, Joe Flacco.
According to Browns Insider Tony Grossi, from Espn Cleveland, the team would be more inclined to find the Super Bowl champion than the trade in Falcons Backup Kirk Cousins.
“Flacco is more likely to be a quarter-back than cousins,” said Grosi to the host of “The Really Big Show” Tony Rizzo this week. “Affairs is main there, in addition to the fact that they know it.”
.@TonygrossiSi Think about better chances that the Browns bring together Joe Flacco than to exchange Kirk cousins.

The comments arise after the team owner, Jimmy Haslam, mentioned the name of Flacco during the annual meetings of the owner of the NFL earlier in the week. As Haslam said, Flacco is “in the conversation” so that the browns will sign this offseason, but he would make no promise.
FLACCO available to sign as free agent makes him a much more feasible option than cousins at this stage. Acquiring the latter will ultimately require Cleveland to swing a job with the Falcons.
Atlanta will probably seek a form of remuneration in return and they should be willing to eat part of the guaranteed money of the cousin contract.
Another major obstacle is in the form of cousins needing to give up his non-exchange clause to accept a business with any team. This is something that could be strongly influenced by what the Browns decided to do in the draft of the NFL later this month, hence the reason why Cousins expects to make decisions about his future until this show.
While they are waiting, the Browns can find themselves instead in a meeting with Flacco.
