New Orleans’ saints still have list needs despite a burst of free will.
Until now, the biggest loss for the saints, this offseason has been the half of the Paulson Adebo corner. He missed a large part of the 2024 season after injuring the leg, but there is a big hole to fill. Upon entering the 2024 season, the saints had Adebo and Marshon Lattimore and now either with the team.
New Orleans could use a new cornerback and there is a guy that could be an obvious adjustment. The veteran Stephon Gilmore corner is available in a free agency. He is a Bowler Pro player and former defensive player of the year of the National Football League.
He spent the 2024 season with the Vikings of Minnesota and had an interception, nine defended passes and 56 placed in total in 15 games played. New Orleans is obviously not outcroped with an infinite quantity of ceiling space – as the Patriots of New England are – but it should win a just north of $ 5 million over a year, by Spotrac.
New Orleans could probably afford something like that, but with the draft of the NFL, it would be somewhat surprising to see big business before that. Gilmore would give the saints a veteran Ballhawk in secondary school which could absolutely help the team, but will they make another agreement?
New Orleans has already been surprising in a free agency. This is the type of movement that must be considered afterwards.
