Sam Darnold of Seattle Seahawks reveals reflections on the offensive game book of Klint Kubiak

The ancient quarter of the USC Trojans, Sam Darnold, expressed his reflections on learning the Seattle Klint Kubiak Seahawks coach offensive. The seven-year-old quarterrier has had a season of the Pro Bowl with the Vikings of Minnesota before signing with the Seattle Seahawks.

The 2024 Minnesota season was filled with unexpected turns. After selecting the quarter-Arrière JJ McCarthy in the first round, the Vikings were forced to pivot when the recruit suffered a torn meniscus during the pre-season. This opened the door to Darnold, who intervened and delivered the most productive campaign of his career. He led Minnesota to a place in the playoffs and obtained a sign of the pro Bowl in the process, giving the stability of the Vikings in the quarter-tree while Kevin O’Connell captured the honors of the coach of the year of the NFL.

Meanwhile, things were much less stable in Seattle. The Seahawks finished 10-7 but failed to reach the playoffs, which caused a major overhaul. Seattle director general, John Schneider, negotiated Geno Smith and DK Metcalf, collecting an additional capital project in the process. In particular, the team brought in the former coordinator of the Saints offensive, Klint Kubiak, to manage the offensive under the new coach Mike Macdonald.

Darnold and Kubiak are not foreigners either. The two worked together in San Francisco during the 2023 season, when Kubiak was coordinator of Kyle Shanahan passes. Although Darnold played sparingly behind Brock Purdy, the experience was enlightening. Learning a Shanahan style offense under the direction of Kubiak turned out to be a key turning point in Darnold’s career.

Now gathered in Seattle, Darnold has again expressed optimism as to the adaptation of the system. Speaking with Laura Rutledge from ESPN to the Masters, the 26-year-old quarterrier shared his reflections on reunition with Kubiak and learning the new offense.

“”[Klint Kubiak] is a great offensive coordinator, a great offensive spirit. “”

“I think that above all, it is understanding and learning the game book. You know me and Kilnt Kubiak, the attacking coordinator had a ton of conversations on what it looks like and it was really fun to take things that worked in San Francisco at 23 and things he learned in New Orleans last year and a little of what I learned last year,” said Darnold.

“And collaborates a little on some of these things,” continued Darnold. “You know that Klint is an excellent offensive coordinator and a great offensive spirit. And obviously, I had excellent teammates to be able to share the field and facilitate my work.”

Speaking of teammates, Darnold will work with a reshaped attack in Seattle – who no longer understands the longtime playmaker DK Metcalf, who was exchanged at the Pittsburgh Steelers. The veteran Wideout Tyler Lockett is currently a free agent, leaving Darnold with a new Look Corps led by the former Rams Star of Rams Cooper Kupp and the second-year star Jaxon Smith-Migba.

Although there is clear potential in the passage of pass, the offensive line of the Seahawks remains a question mark. If Seattle can consolidate his protection, Darnold could be well placed to rely on his break in 2024 and help direct a revitalized offense under Klint Kubiak.
