Houston’s Texans were forced to reorganize their reception corps during the offseason, because they lost Stefon Diggs against a free agency, and Tank Dell will probably miss all 2025 while recovering from a horrible knee injury.
While the Texans added a few fascinating wide receivers to Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel during the NFL draft, they actually started their overhaul much earlier when they acquired Christian Kirk in a clever business with the Jacksonville jaguars in early March.
Kirk is expected to serve as a n ° 2 receiver behind Nico Collins at the start of next season, and when he is in good health, he turned out to be a fairly effective weapon.
But could Houston really try to separate from Kirk before he even had the chance to play a single match with the club? Sterling Xie of Pro Football Network thinks, appointing Kirk the most consumable player of the Texans after the draft.
“However, this means that no other wide receiver on the list is assured of a place in the team. This includes the veteran Christian Kirk, which the Texans have just acquired in a business for a choice of seventh round with the Jacksonville jaguars in March”, ” Xie wrote. “It is a small investment, and that did not prevent the Texans from choosing a receiver of Christmas slot machines, which could easily make Kirk redundant. There was no way to Houston to know that they were chosen Noel, of course. Now, however, the Texans could return Kirk to a team that did not respond to its creators of slot machines.”
It would be very surprising if Houston decides to move Kirk since neither Higgins nor Noel have yet established anything in a professional level. You would think that Texan would like a reliable weapon in place for CJ Stroud, and Kirk understands exactly that.
The 28 -year -old is withdrawn from three seasons of transport in 84 receptions for 1,108 yards and eight affected, and if it were not injuries limiting him to 12 games the following year, he would probably have published similar figures.
Last season, Kirk captured 27 assists for 379 yards and a score in eight games, because his campaign was interrupted due to a broken collarbone.
