The giants hire a son on familiar GM

NFL is not always a meritocracy. The best players obviously get up with the crop of the harvest, but behind the scenes, many front offices and coaches are filled with whom people know, rather than what people know.

Now, this does not mean that football cannot be the family business, or that hiring guidelines are not qualified. But it is an unmistakable trend that has at least contributed to the lack of diversity at higher management levels across the league.

Thursday, the New York Giants added to that with their latest addition.

The Giants hired Tyson Beane, the son of the managing director of Buffalo Bills, Brandon Beane, Jordan Raanan d’Espn.

The son of a managing director receives a call is not a surprise. It should be noted, however, that he signed with New York, which thought it was the most likely result except for Buffalo. The Director General of the Giants Joe Schoen and the head coach Brian Daboll came to the Bills tandem, where they helped the quarter-Arrière Josh Allen in a well-sustained superstar with aspirations of the Super Bowl.

Beane and Schoen also go back to Buffalo. Beane was part of the front office of the Panthers of the Caroline who built an NFC champion. When he left for Buffalo, Schoen replaced him as managing director, coming from Miami Dolphins.

Schoen also spent time with Caroline from 2001 to 2007. Meanwhile, Beane was a member of the personnel department, finally becoming the director of football operations in 2008.

Tyson Beane will be a scouting assistant with the Giants. Schoen, during his first year with the Panthers, spent his first year with the organization in this same role.

There is little use in projection from Honey in front given the uncertainty that accompanies the position, the safety of the employment of Schoen and the renewal of lower level assistants can live. Daboll’s son Christian left the organization in 2025 after spending two seasons as an offensive assistant.

According to Raanan, New York has also lost offensive assistant Angela Baker, who had been with the Giants since the start of the current administration.
