Washington commanders have already played abroad. They have never played in the country where they are planned for this season.

Washington is expected to face the Miami dolphins at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid on November 16, 2025. It is the first game in NFL history to be played in Spain, while the League continues their expansion of international game.

Last season, it was the Eagles of Philadelphia who played the first match in Brazil to open the season. Now that the Brazil match will be played for a second consecutive season, the League is looking for other territories.

And commanders are delighted to make the history of the Iberian Peninsula.

“This is probably an excellent reason for me to have additional time before heading for Madrid, which will be a really cool experience for everyone,” joked the head coach of commanders, Quinn The rich Eisen spectacle. “This is actually my first international match.

“My first year in the NFL, I went to Japan for a pre-season match with the 49ers, but that’s my first real one. Many people had the chance to do it, and I’m really looking forward to being there.

Washington will face a mediocre team of dolphins that missed the playoffs last year, and is shaving as much cap space as possible.

On paper, commanders should be able to leave with the first match in Spain with a victory.
