Broncos obtain mixed implications on the three new NFL rules resolutions

The NFL examined a trio of rules of rules during its property meetings this week. These three proposals, which have received voting resolutions, would have changed the regulations and rules of certain key aspects of the NFL game.

The Denver Broncos obtained a mixed bag of implications on each of the three proposals. Let’s examine.

Other teams have attempted to imitate the success of the Philadelphia Eagles with “Tash Push”, including the Broncos, with the same success. During property meetings earlier this spring, Green Bay packers submitted a proposal to ban the game, but the vote was postponed on Thursday.

To ban the push of TUSH, 24 teams had to support her, but only 22 teams voted to support the Packers’ proposal. The Broncos were one of these 22 teams. The controversial game will remain legal, by vote of the NFL.

This can be a surprise, but broncos must travel to play the Eagles in Philadelphia during week 5 this season. With the vote to prohibit the fault of failing Tash, the broncos will have to find a way to defend themselves against the formidable short-yard and the line of goal.

What makes it so difficult to defend is the quality of the Eagles offensive line game and how they decrease their opponents on the defensive line. Although broncos have added to their defensive line, they can lack a piece necessary to help to counter: a large nose plate.

Among the teams that have managed to defend Tash’s push, the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay, with their large Vita Vea nose brochure, paved the way in the midst of their defense. While Broncos nose approaches DJ Jones and Malcolm Roach are solid players, nor in the Vea League, and they do not have its mass.

If the broncos will find a way to stop Tash’s push, they will have to do it in a creative way unless they can somehow take down a massive nose tackle. One of the most effective ways to defend it is not to allow the eagles to enter short-cours situations where the room becomes viable.

This is already the most difficult game in the broncos calendarBut to face the TUSH push makes it even more difficult. It is easy to see why the property of the broncos voted to prohibit it, although the prohibition of a room for fear of defending it can be perceived as sweet. But the packers initially proposed the prohibition because of their problems which defend it.

Regarding the kick proposal at the time, the teams can now declare a kick each time they drag, not only in the fourth quarter, as was the case last year, and the teams can align a meter closer. Broncos’ head coach Sean Payton has a story to try to catch the teams off guard with the kick on the side, but having to continue to declare the game puts the kybosh on any surprise factor. However, being able to do it at any time a game, and not be limited to the fourth quarter is good news.

The proposal for the sowing of the playoffs is not adopted. The proposal would be based solely on team records and no longer guarantees a place in the playoffs to each of the four winners of the division at each conference. Payton was vehemently against this.

“This is probably the third time – every six years, this subject has appeared. We will talk about it in six years, hopefully,” Payton said in April. “Listen, I was in New Orleans in 2010. We had, I thought, a team of 11 victories and we went to Seattle to play a team of seven victories. If you really study the results of this match – let’s just say .500 or less and playing at home – it’s around 50-50. So … I think that winning the division is important. sport. “

There are convincing arguments advanced on both sides of the Sowing Shark problem. For example, a 14-3 team should not have to hit the road to play an opponent 10-7 in the playoffs, as was the case last year.

This punishes a team of 14 victories that plays in a division with a slightly better team that won 15, let’s say, 15 games. Payton, however, is right; There should be a reward for winning the division.

Perhaps, a punctual system, similar to the NHL, would be the way to follow, with each point to win more divisional victories and victories, as well as division crowns. For the moment, there does not seem to be a perfect answer for the problem of the seeding of NFL qualifiers, and, as it is imperfect, the current layout, which was supported in the vote this week, could be the best possible solution.
