The Baltimore Ravens succeeded in the NFL because they took players who prospered at the college level.

Sports initiate Bruce Feldman has appointed the 25 best university football players since 2000, and Three Ravens legends appeared on the list.

The former defensive wingman Terrell Suggs, who played with the Ravens from 2003 to 18 years old, was n ° 10 on the list.

“The recruit of the year PAC-12 2000 of the year, Suggs was a threat, bursting on the stage with 16 TFL and 10 bags. And it was only a taste of what he had in reserve for opponents. In 2001, he had 18 TFL and four forced escaped,” Suggs wrote.

“As a junior, the rusher on board 6-2, 265 pounds tore the opposing offenses, establishing an NCAA record with 24 bags to accompany 31.5 TFL and six forced escapes, triggering the ASU in its first winning season in six years. Suggs had 4.5 bags and 6.5 TFL in a match against Washington.”

After Suggs, his longtime teammate Ed Reed, who broke many records at the University of Miami. Reed timed at No. 6 on the list.

“Reed was the best player and inspiring leader in the Hurricanes in 2001, which Stewart Mandel ranked as the best team of the 2000s. When Reed appeared in Miami in 1997, the canes were in shock from NCAA sanctions.

“Reed has seen the game differently than maybe any defensive back. He often had three steps in advance on rival quarters, establishing them traps. He has UM records for interceptions with 21, interception return teams with 389 and choosing six with five. Reed was also a demon in the special teams, blocking four game shots.

After Reed, Lamar Jackson entered n ° 5. Jackson spent three seasons in Louisville before joining the Ravens as the first round choice in 2018.

“Jackson fled with the Heisman trophy in 2016, obtaining 80% of the votes for the first place to become the youngest player to have won at 19,” wrote Feldman.

“The following year, Jackson rushed to 1,601 yards and 18 affected despite the defenses that were preparing to slow it down. When Jackson left, the cardinals fell to 2-10 and 0-8 in the ACC and Bobby Petrino was dismissed.”

The only players who ranked higher than Jackson on the list were the quarter of the LSU Joe Burrow, the defensive platform of the Nebraska Ndamukong Suh, the Ball bearer USC Reggie Bush and the quarter-Arrière of Auburn Cam Newton.
