NFL Win / Loss Preview Series: Detroit Lions Originally appeared on Sports Athlon.
Suddenly, among the NFL class, once planned a strait planned to win ten games – but it is considered by some as a negative.

Victory / loss dimensions of lions:
In a league where the success from one year to the next is so strongly based on improvement, Lions’ questions this summer revolve around the restoration of losses. First and foremost in the file must be the former head coach Ben Johnson, who played a leading role in the renaissance of Detroit as the coordinator of the pass and offensive. Det shot a 3-13-1 file in 2021 to win 36 games in the next three regular seasons with Johnson at the helm.
Drait’s offensive macros in 2024 assert the best in the game (33.2 ppg, 409.5 yards / game, 2.3 First Downs / Drive, success rate of 52.8%, 0.15 EPA / Game) – and I suppose that I find it difficult to solve, they simply forget how to play without Johnson. Dan Campbell still guides the ship with a trusted QB under the center, and even called on the former senior attacking assistant John Morton as a new offensive coordinator. The point being, the vast majority of the offensive engine workings come back for 2025.
A second defeat is much greater by my accounts, while the offensive line player Star Frank Rugnow suddenly announced his retirement. Detroit wrote Ol Tate Ratledge (2.57) and G Miles Frazier (5.171) but did not do much else to strengthen the trenches – and they will probably take a step back.
The negatives seem to accumulate for Detroit but remember, this team won 15 games in 2024. When is it all cooked in a 50/50 proposal to make five full games in a single off-season? The more I look, the calendar, believe it or not, the answer is yes.

As I wrote briefly in our NFC North preview series, it is questionable that no one has attracted a shorter timetable than Detroit. The division itself is already a glove, and in addition to that, they obtain KC, TB and LAR as punctual adversaries.
Laghezza de Laghezza:
I hate the idea of selling a team as well trained and talented on both sides of the ball in short. However, the lions calendar is brutal. They will play four incredibly difficult games on five before week 8 Goodbye on the road ( @ gb, @ bal, @ cin, @ kc) – and that does not become much easier after that, opening vs min, then @ was and @ phi. Yikes.
It is completely plausible with some bad rebounds of Detroit below .500 by leaving Philly, where they should essentially gain in cash. It is possible that I regret going against my intestine at the end, but I do not touch that.
