Green Bay, Wisconsin (WFRV) – Friday, Mark Murphy absorbed his last moments as president and chief executive officer of Green Bay Packers.
His day started at the training camp, where he signed dozens of autographs and took photos with the fans. The annual meeting of shareholders later in the afternoon doubled as a celebration of Murphy’s time as president and chief executive officer.

He included a video tribute to Murphy and messages from other leaders of the League, including Roger Goodell.
In his remarks during the shareholders’ meeting, Murphy said it was one of his favorite events of the year. He described it as the most unique business meeting around the world.
Murphy obtained the reception of a hero when he got out of the tunnel in the Bowl stadium with lambeau field for the meeting. The shareholders gave him a standing ovation and signaled cutouts with his face which also doubled as fans of July after the afternoon. He even received MVP songs.

“I am so grateful for the huge race that I had and to be able to interact with fans in the same way,” said Murphy.
Ed Policy will take over for Murphy as a new president and chief executive officer of Green Bay Packers. He has been part of the team since 2012 when he joined the Vice-President and Advocate General. Politics also spoke during the Assembly of shareholders.
“It is never easy to follow someone like Mark Murphy, but much easier when he took the time to prepare you to do so,” he said.
Murphy said his greatest council he had given to politics was to be himself. Murphy said that the new president and chief executive officer has shown great leadership over the years and was ready to assume this role.

Murphy was the president and chief executive officer of the Packers since 2008. During his stay in this role, The Green and Gold was a team of sustainable playoffs and won the Super Bowl in 2011. Murphy was one of the visionaries behind Titletown and also helped bring the NFL recovery to Green Bay last spring.
The fans who spoke in local section 5 declared that they had done to arrive at the shareholders’ meeting so that they could say goodbye and thank Murphy.

“Thank you for everything you have done for packers and community, packers and team fans,” said Packers, Joanne Smits.

“To mark, I just want to say thank you for your contributions, your time, your effort, your love for Green Bay,” said Connor Cappaert, another Packers shareholder at the meeting on Friday afternoon. “Green Bay is better now than when you are on board.”
The mayor of Green Bay, Eric Genrich, published a proclamation on Friday morning, on July 25 “Mark Murphy Day” in Green Bay.
Friday evening, the managers illuminated several bridges in the city center of Green Bay with green and golden lights to celebrate the inheritance of Murphy.
“I hope they (fans) feel like they have left the organization better than I found,” said Murphy.
