South Bend – for five consecutive seasons, Our Lady The main football receiver was a tight end.

From 2020-222, it was consensus All-America Michael Mayer You are in the lead, including equality with Javon McKinley, as the first year. Over the past two years, Mitchell Evans has dominated the list, although with much more modest totals than Mayer has affirmed.

Now that Evans is in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers, the five -year sequence could be in danger. In 2019, Chase Claypool exceeded the tight end Cole Kmet in the catches (66-43).

Eli Raridon is entering his last year with 16 career catches and a reputation in block. The attacking coordinator Mike Denbrock predicted “a huge season” for Raridon this fall, but this will require instant chemistry with a first start to determine.

The selected Kevin Bauman and Jack Larsen come back, but promising Junior Cooper Flanagan could miss most of the regular season while recovering from an Achilles on the left torn in the sugar Bowl against Georgia.

Flanagan has five captures in two seasons, but has always saved playing time last year with its blocking prowess.

This leaves the Arkansas Transfer Ty Washington and the first -year student four -star James Flanigan as potential jokers.

Like Raridon, Washington was mainly counted to block during his three seasons at Arkansas. Denbrock tried to recruit him in Cincinnati outside the school, so the connection is there, but Washington has only 14 catches for 212 yards and four scores of his career.

Flanigan, the son of the former Irish defensive platform Jim Flanigan, is a bizarre athlete who also played hockey and athletics during his care career in Wisconsin. The young Flanigan, who has also played in defense, has accumulated 21 bags and 26 hitherto hit in his last three seasons.

“I would not reduce young James Flanigan,” Denbrock told journalists this summer. “He is size, he has power and he is a mature child for his age.”
