Texans HC Demeco Ryans sees an offensive line “entering”

Don’t look now, but the Houston Texans could have their starting offensive line for the regular season.

After Saturday’s practice at the Methodist training center, Texans Head coach Demeco Ryans said that the starting line was in good shape with players separating from the peloton. What does that mean? In short, expect the first five you have seen in training in recent days are the first five when Houston faces Los Angeles at the Sofi stadium on September 7.

“When we put the pads, you see guys starting to advance a little on the other guys,” said Ryans. “We will always assess these guys and see how the games are going, but I’m satisfied with the place where we are now.”

Since the Texans put the pads, the Texans presented three of the same five offensive line players with each training: Cam Robinson on the left tackle, TyWard TyWard at the right guard and Aireontae Ersèry on the right tackle. Jake Andrews and Jarrett Patterson turned to the center with the first team, while Jaylon Thomas and Laken Tomlinson saw a majority of representatives at the left guard.

Right now, Tomlinson is the favorite to start the left guard, so the only real battle seems to be in the center. Andrews, who has experience in work with the new coach of the Cole Popovich offensive line at university, saw most of the representatives of the first team on Saturday.

“I think it helps when you have a continuity and you work in addition to the same guy for as many representatives that you live in practice,” said Ryans. “It helps communication, it helps speed things up.”

Ersery, the choice of Texans in the second round of Minnesota, could be the greatest surprise before the team of the team in Greenbrier. It is not because Houston did not expect him to be a focal point of the offense, but many thought that the choice of second round in 2024 would be a fireless to start during the training camp.

Currently, the old product of Notre Dame has been locked up in the right tackle with most of Camp 2.

“The thing we are working with Blake is Pad level,” said Ryans earlier this offseason. “Can he work with a good level of cushion, work with a good knee turn and be in good position to protect?”

Ersey, who has spent his last three seasons with the GOLD GOPHES In the left tackle, learns a new job while trying to protect her quarter from a all-pro talent like Danielle Hunter. It was difficult, but he feels like putting himself at speed, moving from left to right.

“I am more natural on the left; I played longer. But it’s like cycling, once you got there, you continue to pedal,” said Ersery. “It’s not that difficult.”

The Texans will face the Vikings du Minnesota At US Bank Stadium on Saturday.
