It’s a week of match for the Buffalo Bills with the pre-season opener scheduled for August 9 against the New York Giants at the Highmark Stadium.
In the only home exhibition on the Bills summer calendar and the last pre-season game in the history of the place, some wonder if the quarter-Arrière leaving Josh Allen will take the ground for one or two offensive series.
“Yeah, we will see. Always work through it. We will see where it goes,” said head coach Sean McDermott before team training on August 3 at St. John Fisher University.
Two days earlier, the Bills deployed Allen for heating and the work of 7 against 7 before sitting on the NFL reigning MVP during the team 11 competition against 11 during the return of Blue & Red practice. He gave the outgoing Mitch Trubisky, Mike White and Shane Buechele backup the opportunity to take additional rehearsals in front of the record crowd.
“We have four quarters in the camp, a little unique in this regard. Trying to take a look at these quarters, Mitch, Mike and Shane, and to give them the respect they have won,” said McDermott.
As for Allen, the 29-year-old will probably not benefit much, if all, from the action of the pre-season game at this stage of his career. With the whole offensive line back, as well as several key weapons, the quarter-rear is already very familiar with its environment and the entire offensive operation.

For those who hope to see Allen take pictures when the Bills welcome the giants on Saturday at 1 p.m., examining recent history is a way of forming a supposition. In 2024, he started the pre-season 1 at home match against the Bears in Chicago. More than eight shots, Allen succeeded 2 out of 3 out of 22 yards and added one
