New York Giants Assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka reassured the game call tasks after stripping them in 2024, and made his debut in the week 1 of the pre-season.
Rather than radio-radio in the stand parts, Kafka called them from the key line. This allowed a more direct communication with head coach Brian Daboll and the quarters of the team.

“This is something we talked about during the offseason. I think it went well, think there was good communication. We will see what we are doing this week. This is what these pre-season matches are used. Operationally, I was satisfied with the way things happened,” Dabolls told journalists on Sunday.
Daboll would not be committed to being a permanent operation for the giants, but said that he would talk about it with Kafka. In the end, it is a personal choice and will be Kafka to make.
“I think it is an individual preference. I think there are probably advantages and disadvantages for each place, calling upstairs in relation to calling down,” he said. “There are different things – you are less emotional when you are upstairs, a quieter environment, you may see part of the field a little better.
“At the bottom, there are better conversations most of the time, easier conversations when you are just there around the quarters, capable of communicating with the coaches, so it is something we wanted to try for this game. We sit down and … in the end, we will make the decision that we feel best for the opening.”

If Kafka remains on the touch, Daboll will have other eyes in the sky.
“We have a number of guys. We have a large staff, so there are a number of guys who are upstairs. Again, I thought that the communication really in the three phases was good,” said Daboll. “Information – and once again, that’s what these games are for. We have not trained so long, and we have new people in staff, and that’s what the part of these games are also used for, we can align ourselves and make sure that our communication process is good for our players.”
The Giants did not descend their operation for the match on Saturday against the New York Jets, but after having marked 34 against the Bills, Kafka being on the sidelines could be the favorite choice.
