Two university football stars find the future of the NFL in Cleveland after legal problems Originally appeared on Sports news

At the end of the 2024-25 university football season, two names were on most of the major advice from NFL draft analysts, the prospects that should be written relatively high. In both examples, each player came from an elite Blue Blood elite program. The two participated in the university football playoffs and were considered to be future NFL contributors with a huge advantage. However, their two term contracts on the NFL suffered a significant blow due to legal problems.

Ohio State Running Back Quinshon Judkins

Judkins was a one -year contributor to Ohio State after being transferred from Ole Miss. During his first season with Ole Miss, he raised nearly 1,600 yards out of 273 races and 16 affected with an average of 5.7 yards per load. All in all, Judkins ended his university career with nearly 4,000 yards in 739 races and 45 affected, while retaining an impressive 5.1 yards per race for his career. Judkins also helped the Ohio State to win its ninth national championship.

Judkins was arrested in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for the offense of domestic violence and battery. The arrest occurred five days after the alleged offense took place. Judkins was released on bail of $ 2,500. During the thirty-three days that followed the arrest, the Browns of Cleveland and the NFL League office provided very few comments beyond allowing the legal process to take its course.

Bond of the Large Receiver of Texas Isaiah

Bond was also a one -year contributor for the University of Texas after the transfer of Alabama. Unlike Judkins, the first year of Bond was rather impressive with 220 yards and a hit on 17 receptions. During his three -year university career, Bond ended with a shade of less than 1,500 yards, 10 affected on 99 receptions. He was considered to be the Large 2 receiver of the same Texas team which included Matthew Golden (drafted 23RD Overall to packers). Bond and the Longhorns would be the fifth seeded in the playoffs of university football and beat the n ° 12 Clemson and the n ° 4 of the state of Arizona, before losing the semi-final at the Cotton Bowl at the Ohio State, the possible national champions.

In April of this year, before the draft of the NFL, a deposit was arrested as a mandate of the pending sexual assault. This case had additional details as a text thread was revealed which included a deposit asking the victim to sign an NDA as well as a financial regulations. Despite the maintenance of his innocence. After being released on bail of $ 25,000, he had to be drafted in the first fifty, but was not drafted.

Both cases were resolved in a few hours the same day

On Thursday, although both cases are completely unrelated, the two cases met their end the same day. In the case of Judkins, the Broward County Prosecutor’s Office refused to continue the case due to a lack of evidence and contradictory statements by Judkins and the alleged victim. As for the case of Bond, the Grand Jury of the Collin County Texas made the decision of “no invoice”. This decision reveals that the state of Texas chooses not to instill the obligation of these accusations. The two cases did not lead to any legal action beyond discovery and audiences. None of the cases were judged.

    Following steps

Judkins, who has still not signed a recruit contract, is expected to return to Camp Browns in the coming days. Bond had not signed with an NFL team. Earlier in the day, when the news came in this link will not face a legal discipline, he announced via his social media that he intended to sign with the Browns. In an article on social networks, he included a typed letter on the header paper of his performances by thanking the Front Office of Cleveland Browns and the property to “believe in me”.

The curious nature of the two cases was only made intriguing than with the two players who were mainly exempt a few hours from the same day, will continue their NFL trip with Cleveland. This is remarkable in an NFL landscape which for some time has been willing to punish teams for having acquired players who find themselves in legal problems. Although each team has its fair share of problems to solve, the Browns have been rather consistent to take risks calculated with certain players.

In addition to judis and Bond, the choice of the second round of the Browns last year, Michael Hall Jr, was arrested for domestic violence. Hall did not argue any competitions for a reduced sentence. The NFL has suspended Hall for 5 games for violating the League’s personal conduct policy. All this seems pale compared to the legal glove which came after the Browns exchanged and paid in Deshaun Watson a record of $ 243 million, a completely guaranteed contract before his allegations of sexual assault was resolved.

    Bond premature announcement

According to Chris Easterling of Akron Beacon Journal and Mary Kay Cabot from Cleveland.com, no agreement with Bond was signed. The Browns, who have followed his situation since the pre-project process Make a reasonable diligence on Bond Before a final decision was made. Regardless of the calendar or optics, the Browns could respond to certain concerns of alignment concerning the return of Judkins and the possible addition of Isaiah Bond.

Now that the judicial process has ended, the Browns will wait and see which discipline is deducted in the name of the NFL League office with regard to personal conduct policy.
