After the match, Chiefs of Kansas City The quarter-Arrière Patrick Mahomes spoke with journalists of his reflections on the performance of the offensive line during the defeat of the pre-season on Friday evening against the Bears of Chicago.
“I was super excited to go out, especially at the Geha Field at the Arrowhead stadium, and to obtain real representatives with these guys (Kingsley Suamataia and Josh Simmons).” Said Mahomes: “I’m always talking about getting hit and doing things like that, but to have the atmosphere of the pocket, the confidence of these guys, and give guys to make games below, it shows that all the hard work we have put and the training camp is to pay. And we will continue to build when we are preparing for the regular season.”

Mahomes finished eight of the 13 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown. He also added a race of 18 yards, showing good mobility and good comfort in the pocket. He also commented on the young side of the offensive line, in particular the performances of Josh Simmons and Kingsley Suamataia.
“Yeah, I thought they (Kingsley Suamataia and Josh Simmons) had intervened and did a lot of big things. We challenged them, and we gave them the most difficult (challenge) that they can (make) go against spags (the defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo) and put them in individual situations – and they learned and improved.” Said Mahomes “They must continue to take measures in the right direction, and they have done so. And therefore, there will be mistakes from time to time, (but) that is part of the NFL, but that’s how you react, and I am delighted that these guys are challenged and then go there and show who they are.”
Mahomes played three discs, and the starting offensive line was solid in terms of protection and racing game.
