Washington commanders leave Brian Robinson Jr. after exchanging him for the 49ers of San Francisco for a sixth round choice.
ESPN analyst Seth Walder ranked the choice and gave commanders a “B” for the move.
“Robinson, a choice of third round in 2022, accumulated between 733 and 799 yards on the ground with each of his three seasons in Washington. He also obtained what is blocked for him but not much more: he recorded 0.1 or 0.2 yards at the forefront in each of his three seasons, by the purpose of the NFL. Walder wrote.
“Robinson, who played 52% of offensive shots in the matches he played last season, is mainly considered as a runner, Austin Ekeler having managed the reception work. Robinson had 36 receptions for 368 reception yards in 2023 and scored very in the ground in this category a year ago (47).

Commanders should be congratulated for drawing a certain value from Robinson before he reaches the free agency. He may have come with a compensatory choice if he signed elsewhere in free agency next spring, but the commanders have chosen to move him now as opposed to later.
Washington A Jacory Croskey-Merritt that bursts into the stage in the training camp and its emergence is part of the reason why commanders are ready to separate from Robinson.
Commanders hope to have what they need with Croskey-Merritt, Ekeler and McNichols, because the three seem to be the contributors to the ground that can help Washington to return to the playoffs for a second consecutive season.
Commanders will reduce their list to 53 players before welcoming New York Giants during week 1 to the Northwest Stadium on Sunday, September 7.
