The Texans of Houston announced on Monday afternoon that RB Joe Mixon would at least miss the first four games of the regular season 2025 of foot and ankle problems. Mixon, 29, was Houston’s advance last season, but was sidelined all the offseason with injuries. It was not clear if he would be ready for week 1 and now we know that he will be reassessed after the first four competitions.

With this news, he folds the big question of fantastic football: who do you target RB for the Texans? Matt Harmon was joined by Ray Garvin to discuss the situation on Yahoo’s fantastic forecasts.

Currently, there are four potential backs that could be found in the mixture. The veteran Nick Chubb was brought through two major injuries; It only appeared in 10 games in the past two seasons. The head coach Demeco Ryans was also impressed by the way Chubb looked earlier in the camp. But when he is in good health, Chubb was one of the best RBS in the NFL. Harmon thinks that Chubb should be the one who will get the first crack at the head of the rear field.
Dameon Pierce, formerly considered the potential head behind the future in Houston, is still in the mixture despite the regression after her recruit season. He rushed to 939 yards and four TDs in 2022, also adding 30 catches for 165 yards and another TD. Pierce has mainly played in a rescue role in recent seasons and since Mixon joined the team. Harmon does not think that the recruit season of Pierce was a stroke of luck and perhaps we see a return to the form now that he is back under the spotlight.

Woody Marks recruit obtains the most media threshing after having a strong pre-season. He received 20 keys on three pre-season games, accumulating 83 yards and a hit in the process. It has the coolest legs on the rear field for Houston and should get a crack to be the head.

Dare Ogunbowale, a specialist in veterans, could also fight for shots with Mixon Out. Garvin ensures that he gives Ogunbowale a quick cries.
Harmon does not have a very skinny at the moment and he suggests that editors should be opened to take one of the first three names mentioned. One thing on which the two analysts can agree is to avoid mixon in your draft.
“You catch the falling knife, you can’t find a secret value (with late Mixon in projects now),” said Harmon.
The other Harmon angle underlines is QB CJ Stroud, who will have more pressure on him if this contingent RB is not effective. Stroud may need to launch the ball a ton, which is not a bad thing for some of the Texans pass sensors.
