Like the Saint-Orleans saints Wrapped their list discounts before Tuesday’s deadline, the team took a step to strengthen the depth along the offensive line. Old choice of fifth round of Dallas CowboysAsim Richards, was sent to New Orleans as part of an agreement involving some discussions of late choices.
With a series of unfortunate pre-season injuries to several offensive line players of several saints, Richards will be invoked as a precious depth piece in the future. By taking a closer look at Richards and his overall work, some of his best university trucks came against a name familiar to fans of saints – Isaiah Foskey, the former defender of Notre Dame and the choice of second round of the saints in 2023. Back in North Carolina, Richards dominated Foskey in his clashesneutralize the Irish fightThe bag leader and preventing him from generating many pressures. His performance against Foskey was revealing his routine domination against some of the best rushers of ACC, displaying the great strength and balance on the edge.
For what it is worth, the passage from Foskey to New Orleans was a total disappointment. Written with high expectations as a disruptor outside the edge, he unfortunately could not translate this at the NFL level. Whether it is inconsistencies in the defense of the race, or a lack of rush capacity towards the passes, Foskey has never found its place.
As for Richards, at 6 feet 4 inches and 315 pounds, it gives the saints a certain versatility with a good mixture of size and athletics to play several places. He should end up being a part of this team, because it will probably be invoked at some point this season.
