“Dolphins dealing with three cornerback injuries: Where things stand”. And updating of practices

The Dolphins began on-field preparations Thursday for Monday night’s game against Tennessee in a precarious position at cornerback, where three players are injured.

Starter Kendall Fuller is in concussion protocol.

Siran Neal, one of Miami’s top special teams players, was riding a stationary bike in practice Thursday. The nature of his injury will not be revealed until the injury report is released later today.

And rookie Storm Duck wore a red non-contact jersey. Duck injured his shoulder Sunday against Seattle, but later returned to the game.

It’s possible Fuller leaves the concussion protocol before Monday’s game; Mike McDaniel said Thursday that Fuller indicated he was feeling better. But he still has to go through the five-step concussion protocol process.

The game status for Neal and Duck is also unclear.

If none can play, the Dolphins’ cornerbacks on Monday would be Jalen Ramsey, Kader Kohou, Ethan Bonner and at least one of two practice squad players — Nik Needham or Isaiah Johnson.

Although Titans quarterback Will Levis has struggled (four touchdowns, five interceptions, 76.5 passer rating), Tennessee’s offense features one of the best receiver trios the Dolphins will face in 2024 : De’Andre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd.

Separately, left tackle Terron Armstead (concussion protocol) and linebacker David Long Jr. (hamstring) did not appear to participate in Thursday’s practice, the first of three consecutive days of practice before the game. Monday evening.

Running back Raheem Mostert, who hasn’t played since the first game due to a chest injury, was spotted in practice.

Defensive lineman Calais Campbell was not scouted; it may have been a day off for veterans, but that won’t be clarified until later Thursday.

Quarterback Skylar Thompson attempted a few short throws but looked uncomfortable. He needed help putting on his jersey.

Tyler Huntley and Tim Boyle are the Dolphins’ healthy options at quarterback.

Huntley could get the start Monday if he shows strong enough command of the offense. He is widely considered the favorite at this point.
