THE Browns will look to end a four-game losing streak in what is quickly becoming a lost season when they host the Cincinnati Bengals to 1 p.m. Sunday at Huntington Bank Field.
THE Browns fell to 1-5 on Sunday with a 20-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eaglesand the Bengals improved to 2-4 with a 17-7 victory over the New York Giants.
The links between the two teams are numerous, starting with the legendary Paul Brown, after whom the Browns franchise is named and who founded the Bengals several years after being unceremoniously fired by former Browns owner Art Modell. The Bengals are still owned by Paul Brown’s son, Mike Brown.
In total, the Browns and Bengals have played 101 times, with the Bengals holding a 53-48 head-to-head advantage, including a 31-14 win on Jan. 7 in the most recent game of the series. After losing seven straight to the Bengals between 2014 and 2017, the Browns have won nine of the last 12 meetings.
The only current player who has played for both teams is Browns defensive back and special player Tony Brown, who played in 13 games for the Bengals in 2020.
