THE Buffalo Bills will turn to the next page of their 2024 NFL regular season.
Following their bye week, the Bills (9-2) will face the San Francisco 49ers (5-6) at Highmark Stadium in Week 13.
But even before kick-off, there will be plenty of discussions and conversations over the coming days.
Here are five scenarios to watch as the Bills prepare for the 49ers:
Post-bye winners
Forget every other statistic that comes to mind when comparing teams, here’s the only one that matters: Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott has never lost a game during his tenure with the Bills.
Prime time again
The NFL’s final weekend is still a “TBD.” There could still be more primetime football on the way…and of course, there’s the playoffs to consider.
However, when it comes to the Bills’ known schedule, Week 13 will be the last time Buffalo is featured in a primetime football slot. The 49ers are coming to town for a “Sunday Night Football” showdown.
Bills Mafia will definitely be there once again.
Josh Allen against who?
Brock Purdy or Brandon Allen? It’s unclear who will start at center for the Niners against the Bills. Purdy missed his first game of the season with a right shoulder injury last week. His team lost 38-10 under Allen’s leadership.
Many Bills injuries to watch
With their bye week happening in Week 12…that puts a positive light on the injury report. Will the Bills return certain players to the lineup?
A few to keep in mind are wide receiver Keon Coleman (wrist), offensive lineman Spencer Brown (ankle) and linebacker Matt Milano (biceps injured reserve).
Traces?
The Bills have some points on the line…sort of. The one that is really at stake in the one of consecutive victories. Buffalo would be the winner of seven consecutive outings leading San Francisco.
On top of that, the Bills can win their fifth straight AFC East title with a win and a Miami Dolphins loss to the Green Bay Packers. But it can also happen later.
